ABOUT TIM
I live on a small lake in the woods of Northwestern Wisconsin. I built my shop in 2000 after graduating from the two-year Cabinetmaker program at Hennepin Technical College located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I was inspired by my father and grandfather in building things. Now I have the opportunity to do just that.
FURNITURE
Using the natural beauty of ALL WOOD construstion,
paying attention to details, expert craftsmanship,
results in exceptional quality furniture.
My furniture is inspired by the area that surrounds me and the clean simple lines of Arts & Craft, Mission, and Shaker styles. Beautiful, simple, and yet highly functional, each piece is meticulously crafted with quality materials. I take great pride in the selection of the wood and the time-consuming placement and the matching of grain and color. I use a variety of woods, harvested in northern here in northern Wisconsin. Each piece is custom designed & built to meet your specific needs. The woods I most often work in are Hickory, White & Red Oak, Maple, Walnut, Cherry, Ash, Birch, White & Red Pine.
KITCHENS
Kitchen cabinet specialist.
True custom cabinetry is whatever you want or need in cabinetry. It has no limitations, or very few, depending on the individual homeowner. When thinking about where to begin your custom cabinetry project(s), be sure to talk to me. You should look for one who is willing to listen to your wants and needs very carefully. I will design it for the times with precision, keeping your needs and budget in mind without sacrificing quality. The cabinetry is built to 1/16". Traditional joinery techniques and glue are used. My cabinets have 3/4" sides and bottoms along with 1/2" backs. Doors, drawer fronts, and face frames are solid wood.
On the other hand modular cabinets are massed produced in a factory in 3" increments, and must rely on accessory parts to make it fit into the job, the use of plastic corner blocks and staples are used to keep them together.
ACCESSORIES
Other items I have made include end grain cutting boards, shelves with shaker pegs, spice racks, magazine holders, serving carts, window valances, quilt stands, wine bottle holders, foot stools, adirondack style chairs, cup and paper towel holders. Even a bird house inspired cabinet.
What ever you can dream, I will make it a reality.
